PLANNING YOUR ROOM Making a floor plan is the easiest way to take an objective look at your home. Let each square on the graphs provided equal one square foot. Measure your rooms and mark off the appropriate number of blocks to duplicate the exact size and shape of each room. First, indicate permanent features such as door, windows, fireplaces, built-ins, bays and electrical outlets. Next, cut out the templates, choosing sizes close to those of the furniture you'll be using and identify them accordingly.
