1. Flat beading: Thread beading needle with a length of thread as long as possible and tie a knot in one end. Pick up 6 beads. 2. Pick up bead 7 and thread back through bead 6. Pick up bead 8 and thread back through bead 5. Work 6 beads in row 2.
3. Continue to work rows of 6 beads added between the beads of the previous row until you have used up the thread.
4. When the thread is almost used up, run the end back through the beads in several rows and tie a knot. 5. Knot in a new thread between two beads, and run the thread through the rows to the point where you left off.
6. To attach the findings, run the thread through the holes in the findings and through the beads. Knot the thread ends.
7. Tubular chain: Thread a bead needle with a length of thread as long as possible and tie a knot in one end. Pick up 6 beads and make a ring by threading through bead 1 again. A larger tube can be made by using more beads in each round. 8. Continue to work the rounds by adding beads between the beads of the previous round. Begin and end threads as for flat pieces. It is difficult to distinguish between rounds with small beads, so you may wish to, practice with stripes.
9. Spiral patterns and diagonal lines: Repeat the color of the bead you are threading through in the previous row or round. |
